A great point of Youth Academy really is your capacity to “shape” the skills of a player.
And in the new concept, where Multi-Skills are the “hype”, is VERY interesting to potentiate to the maximum every skill of each player.
Some combinations of skills in the train, if used on row, turns possible one big amount não importa TANTO a ordem, e sim a utilização de variados treinos) allow a greater number of players with a greater number of (different) trained skills.
This allows a smaller number of players “missing effect of train” because them are playing on wrong position. This allows a better use of train to every player too.
There are more of hundred possibilities to combine primary and secondary types of train… So I will talk just about the “keys” and “interesting” in my view point.
If you really wants try another combinations, reminder ALWAYS maximize effort to specific positions (i.e. maximum number of slots used to get effect of train).
And IGNORE results ou experience to formation.
The Youth Academy is JUST to TRAIN players, you DON`T need win.
The players must be a “degree of importance” to get skills on “better potencial”.
You can order them by any mode… But I recommend:
Younger Get better position.
Talented ones Get better position.
Player with few matches Get better position.
Multi skill Get better position
Player close to potencial Get better position (yes, this is a order “almost” unlike to Talented ones…)
Don`t bother your choice…. (or maybe a mix?), the point is just to put in order.
This “order” is very important to next pictures:
You must remember this order is VERY MUCH important to specific position player get more stars.
You cann`t have problems to put a scorer like winger to get a bigger part of train, ok?
Some remarks
Darkest colors shows greater effect of train.
Values of percentage are to compare effect of this train in the better position of train, like primary train. Not at all must be considered “ideal values”.
No way must be used to compare double train of passing, winger or defending.
A left square in each position shows primary train.
A right square in each position shows secondary train.
A line above forwards is a reference to set piece taker to set pieces train. He have a “bonus” in this train.
A blue rectangle, is a reference to substitutes to set pieces train. Them get a small part of train too.
There is a illustrative picture with examples and a small comment to each skill. and one special about individual train too:
Individual

Individual train is a SLOW train, but affects EVERY player, and in random skills (one by player).
The great point is to use individual when you DON`T know your own players or until specific need of train. Anything you train on this situation can be useless.
Another good trains to this situations are crossing + winger attacks, defending + defensive positions or short passes + Trough Passes.
Individual is different of start a test with another train… because to each player who can`t take the train (and plays on position of train), the waste is big.
Individual train must be combinated with a quick train, and I can`t see a better option than Set Pieces.
Keepers and Crossing like secondary train can be good choices too, but the quantity of players affected is drastically smaller than set pieces.
Keeper

Train of keeper must be used ONLY if you know one specific player needs of keeper`s train.
This trains is VERY quick, and for player “non-keepers” is normal get your maximum value (when your forward claims by keeper`s train by example) in a friendly match (like primary train).
Or like secondary train on a league match. This train must be used like primary train on league matches ONLY if your player have real potencial to be a keeper.
So like Individual, this train must be combined with something very quick, and must be affective to MANY players, because keeper train affects just one player.
Considering keepers get a bonus on set pieces train AND a keeper needs of this skill this was the obvious choice.
Anyway, defensive positions and long shoots can be used to avoid wasted players.
Playmaking

Playmaking skill is to me the the most prejudiced on youth academy.
You have five slots, but two are working with 50%.
IMNO encourage combine this train with passing or scoring for obvious reasons:
Passing is VERY better trained when combined with passing. Will do your effect on greater number of players and will do quick too.
Scoring can`t improve rating on NONE other than forwards.
The osmosis made on inners (scoring) and the train in the forwards will be fully wasted, except to real forwards.
But, IF you have forwards AND inner-midfielders, you can permute between “Playmaking + Scoring” and “Scoring + Playmaking”, using the formation 2-5-3.
To other options I would choice Defending or Winger.
Defending is a secondary to ANY player, except forwards.
This is the better choice.
Of course other point is that you will train TEN player…. five on playmaking and five on defending.
And osmosis from PM is GREAT to defenders. Also osmosis from defending is GREAT to inners and wingers.
Passing

Passing train in the youth players is a big “combo”.
You can and must to use if you don`t know your players.
In many weeks (after two weeks, in every week) a player will close your maximum in this skill.
Is need a very short time to you have ALL players with the better secondary skill of game in your maximum value.
Of course you can before stop this.
I choice the most effective train (short passes) like primary, but can be trough passes too.
On this second case is a good option use the formation 5-5-0.
Winger

Like passing, the existence of TWO types of train affecting wingers and two times some players is GREATFUL.
This is another very quick train, but is slower than passing and affects a smaller number of player.
Also highly recommended.
Winger Attacks CAN be used like primary train. But will reduce the effect in our “key players (wingers)”.
Defending

Defending train is very slow, but very useful too.
Except by forwards, ALL players need defending skill. Until your keeper.
Combine it with defensive position. The extra effect is really small, but is something.
I don`t recommend to use defensive positions like primary train…. Because this will delay the arrive of first player “ready” on defending skill. But is a choice too.
Anyway, five defenders (two wingbacks) is a LAW.
And don`t bother to put your keeper like defender.
Scoring

Similar to playmaking, I guess is injured too.
I don`t recommend to combine with passing because the double train of passing can care this. (yes, also double winger train can response, but will train “only” eight players. passing train ten players).
Can be combined with playmaking if you have players who need playmaking train.
A intercalation between both is very interesting too.
If combined with playmaking try use 2-5-3 like formation.
In our example will be wingers.
Three forwards and two wingers. The forwards are the target, them get two types of train.
Set Pieces

Set Pieces train already was fast in the senior team, and it is really a velociraptor in youth team.
This is recommended to friendly matches. Can be combined with any type of train.
Like this affect better keepers, I choice keepers.
Another good options are scoring (forwards) and crossing (wingers).
Some remarks II
I DON`T recommend to use individual like secondary train, except if your target is ONLY get one random report each match. To help you to “know” your team is useful. To improve your train is dangerous.
I DON`T recommend to use defensive positions or long shoots like secondary train. Are slow typer of train and there is better choices. The unique exception is if you thinks on maintenance this by VERY LONG time.
In this special case, you can combine defensive position with trough passes. And also combine long shoots with set pieces.
Don`t use your keeper like set piece taker.
There are TWO bonuses, you can improve TWO player. The bonus AREN`T cumulatives.
DON`T use a smaller number of slots of train (position of train) than maximum allowed. This will be wasted time. For something not worth it.
Ready players yet can get sublevels. If you will train him on your senior team, you can put him to play 1-2 extra matches. The train on youth academy is quicker than senior.
There are MY point views, orders and trains I use.
There are very far to be a rule or “better choice” to you.
Don`t you like? Change! If you have any doubt, you can post on comments.
Is independent of your choice is within my options. I can help you to maximize effect on YOUR choices.
You don`t need trust fully on your scouts. But you MUST trust on your coach.
Any comments are welcome.
